Locally Supported Agriculture
Locally Supported Agriculture (LSA) is a partnership between farmers and consumers that promotes direct, community-based food purchasing. Consumers buy shares or subscriptions early in the season, providing farmers with upfront financial support. In return, they receive fresh, seasonal products regularly throughout the harvest. This model fosters a stronger connection between people and how their food is grown, encourages sustainable farming practices, and reduces food miles, thereby lowering environmental impact. LSA benefits both parties: farmers gain stability, and consumers access fresh, locally produced food while supporting their local economy.
