Lobster Quadratus

The Lateral Quadratus is a small, rectangular muscle located in the deep part of the lower back near the shoulder blade. It helps stabilize and move the shoulder blade (scapula), assisting in lifting and rotating the arm. The muscle works in coordination with other shoulder muscles to allow smooth shoulder movements. Because of its location, it can sometimes become tight or strained from overuse or poor posture, potentially causing discomfort or shoulder pain. Understanding this muscle is important for diagnosing shoulder issues and designing effective treatments or exercises for shoulder stability and mobility.
