Lobachevsky

Nikolai Lobachevsky was a 19th-century mathematician known for developing hyperbolic geometry, a non-Euclidean geometry where the parallel postulate of Euclidean geometry doesn't hold. In this geometry, through a point not on a given line, there are infinitely many lines that do not intersect the original line, leading to curved, saddle-shaped spaces. Lobachevsky's work expanded our understanding of space and had profound implications for mathematics and physics, influencing theories such as Einstein’s general relativity. His contributions challenged traditional views of geometry, opening new directions for mathematical exploration beyond flat, Euclidean spaces.
