LNG transport
LNG transport involves converting natural gas into a liquefied state by cooling it to approximately -162°C (-260°F), which reduces its volume significantly for easier and cost-effective shipping. The liquefied form is loaded onto specialized ships called LNG carriers, which are equipped with insulated tanks to maintain the low temperature. Once the ship reaches its destination, the LNG is warmed back to its gaseous state and distributed through pipelines for use in homes, industry, or power plants. This process enables safe and efficient international trade of natural gas, especially to regions without pipeline access.
