LNG Propulsion

LNG (liquefied natural gas) propulsion uses liquefied natural gas as fuel to power ships. In this system, LNG is stored at very low temperatures and vaporized to produce natural gas, which is then burned in engines similar to those on land vehicles. Advantages include lower emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases compared to traditional fuels like bunker oil. LNG propulsion offers a cleaner, more efficient way to operate large ships, reducing environmental impact while maintaining performance and reliability. It’s an evolving technology that aligns with the maritime industry’s shift towards sustainability.
