LNG import terminals
LNG import terminals are facilities where liquefied natural gas (LNG) is received, stored, and converted back into gaseous form for distribution. Ships transport LNG in specially insulated tanks to these terminals. Once docked, the LNG is offloaded into storage tanks and then regasified—heated back into natural gas—so it can be sent through pipelines to homes, businesses, and power plants. These terminals enable countries to import natural gas from regions without domestic production, helping diversify energy sources and meet demand reliably.
