Living Things

Living things are organisms that possess essential characteristics such as growth, reproduction, energy use, and the ability to respond to their environment. They are made up of cells, which are the basic building blocks of life, and maintain internal processes to stay alive. Living things can be plants, animals, fungi, bacteria, or other microorganisms. They interact with their surroundings, adapt to changes, and pass on their traits to future generations. These features distinguish living organisms from non-living objects like rocks or water, which do not exhibit growth, reproduction, or response to stimuli.
