Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS)
The Living Standards Measurement Study (LSMS) is a research program conducted by the World Bank to collect detailed data on households’ living conditions worldwide. It gathers information on income, health, education, housing, and access to services to better understand how people live and what affects their well-being. The goal is to inform policymakers and help design effective programs that improve living standards, especially in developing countries. By analyzing this data, governments and organizations can identify the most pressing needs and measure progress over time toward poverty reduction and improved quality of life.
