Liu Xu

Liu Xu was a prominent Chinese historian, scholar, and official during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD). Born in 772, he is best known for editing and compiling the "Old History of the Tang" (Jiu Tang Shu), a comprehensive historical record of the Tang Dynasty. His work helped shape Chinese historiography, emphasizing accuracy and critical analysis. Liu Xu also held government positions and wrote poetry. His contributions significantly influenced Chinese historical writing and preserved the legacy of the Tang Dynasty for future generations.
