Little League Shoulder

Little League Shoulder is a common overuse injury affecting children and adolescents who participate in baseball or softball, particularly during growth spurts. It occurs when the shoulder's growth plate becomes inflamed due to repetitive throwing motions. Symptoms typically include shoulder pain, swelling, and reduced range of motion. This condition is usually seen in young athletes aged 8 to 14, and while it can be painful, it is often treatable with rest, physical therapy, and adjustments to activity levels. Most young athletes recover fully without long-term effects on shoulder function.
