Little Bighorn Battle

The Battle of Little Bighorn, fought on June 25-26, 1876, was a conflict between the United States Army and a coalition of Native American tribes, including the Lakota Sioux, Northern Cheyenne, and Arapaho. Under General Custer’s command, U.S. forces underestimated the strength of the Native fighters. The tribes united to defend their lands and way of life. The battle resulted in a decisive victory for the Native tribes, but it also led to increased U.S. military efforts to force Native Americans onto reservations, significantly impacting their cultures and sovereignty.
