Literary Arabic

Literary Arabic, also known as Modern Standard Arabic (MSA), is the formal, standardized version of the Arabic language used in writing, formal speeches, and media across the Arab world. It is derived from classical Arabic, the language of the Quran and historic texts. While everyday conversation in Arab countries often uses regional dialects, Literary Arabic provides a common linguistic framework that unites speakers of different dialects for communication, education, journalism, and literature. It is learned in schools worldwide of the Arab-speaking world and serves as a formal, official language across many nations.
