Lisbon Strategy
The Lisbon Strategy was a plan initiated by the European Union in 2000 aimed at making the EU the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-based economy in the world by 2010. It focused on enhancing innovation, improving education and research, promoting economic growth, and ensuring social cohesion. The strategy called for reforms in various sectors to create jobs and boost productivity, while also addressing environmental sustainability. While it set ambitious goals, its implementation faced challenges, and by 2010, the EU had to reassess its approach to economic and social policies in light of the changes in the global landscape.
