LISA (Localization Industry Standards Association) was an organization that developed and promoted best practices, standards, and guidelines for the language and translation industry. Its goal was to improve consistency, quality, and efficiency across localization projects—such as translating software, documents, or websites—by providing a common framework for professionals. Although LISA disbanded in 2011, its standards continue to influence industry practices, helping organizations deliver accurate and culturally appropriate content in multiple languages.
