Liquid nitrogen trap
A liquid nitrogen trap is a device used in scientific and industrial setups to remove unwanted gases or vapors from a system. It works by cooling the gases to very low temperatures using liquid nitrogen, which is extremely cold (-196°C). When the gases pass through the trap, the moisture and other condensable molecules liquefy and collect there, preventing them from reaching sensitive instruments or parts of the system. This helps maintain purity and protect equipment, especially in vacuum systems or analytical instruments. Essentially, it’s a highly effective, cold "filter" that traps moisture and other impurities using cryogenic cooling.
