Liquid hydrogen (LH2)

Liquid hydrogen (LH2) is hydrogen gas cooled to extremely low temperatures, below -253°C (-423°F), turning it into a clear, colorless liquid. It is used as a fuel in space exploration and certain high-tech applications because it has a very high energy content per unit weight. Storing hydrogen as a liquid allows for more compact and efficient fuel tanks, especially important for rockets. However, maintaining it in this state requires special insulated containers to prevent it from warming and turning back into gas. Its clean-burning nature makes it an attractive option for reducing pollution when used as a fuel.
