Liquid fuels

Liquid fuels are substances in liquid form that are used to produce energy, primarily for transportation and industry. They are derived mainly from crude oil or biomass and include fuels like gasoline, diesel, kerosene, and jet fuel. These fuels are stored and transported easily, making them convenient for powering vehicles, aircraft, ships, and certain machinery. When burned, liquid fuels release energy in the form of heat, which is usually converted into mechanical work or electricity. Their high energy content, ease of handling, and established infrastructure make them a dominant energy source globally, although alternatives are increasingly being explored for environmental reasons.
