Liquid Crystal Displays (LCDs)
Liquid Crystal Displays (LCDs) are screens that use a special kind of liquid crystal substance that can change its alignment when an electric current is applied. This change in alignment blocks or allows light to pass through color filters, creating images. An LCD display consists of layers: a backlight, liquid crystal cells, color filters, and polarizers. By controlling the electric signals, the LCD can produce detailed images and videos. LCDs are common in TVs, monitors, smartphones, and tablets due to their slim profile, energy efficiency, and ability to display sharp, vibrant visuals.
