Lippershey

Hans Lippershey was a Dutch spectacle maker in the early 17th century, credited with inventing the first practical telescope around 1608. His device used two lenses to magnify distant objects, allowing people to see farther and more clearly. This invention significantly impacted astronomy, navigation, and science by enabling detailed observation of celestial bodies. Although others like Galileo improved upon early designs, Lippershey's contribution is recognized as the foundational step in developing telescopes, making it possible to explore the universe in new ways.
