Lion Air Flight 610

Lion Air Flight 610 was a tragic airplane crash that occurred on October 29, 2018, shortly after takeoff from Jakarta, Indonesia. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft malfunctioned due to issues with its Maneuvering Characteristics Augmentation System (MCAS), which mistakenly pushed the plane’s nose down. Despite pilots' efforts, the automated system repeatedly forced the plane down, leading to a crash that killed all 189 people onboard. The incident highlighted problems in aircraft safety systems and led to worldwide grounding and review of the Boeing 737 MAX fleet.
