Linguistic repertoire

Linguistic repertoire refers to the full range of languages, dialects, accents, and speech styles a person can use or understand. It includes everything from the languages they speak at home, the slang they use with friends, to formal language learned in school. This collection of language skills is shaped by their experiences, culture, and social environments. Essentially, it’s the linguistic toolkit a person draws from to communicate effectively in different situations and with different groups. Having a diverse repertoire allows for flexible and regionally or culturally appropriate communication.
