Limfjord
Limfjord is a shallow, brackish body of water located in Denmark, connecting the North Sea to the Kattegat. It stretches approximately 180 kilometers (112 miles) and separates the North Jutland Peninsula from the rest of Denmark. Historically, it was a natural bay, but in the early 20th century, a dam (the Limfjord Tunnel) was built to control water flow and improve navigation. Today, Limfjord is important for shipping, aquaculture, and tourism, supporting diverse ecosystems and providing a vital link between land and sea in the region.
