Likelihood of fusion refers to the probability that nuclear fusion reactions will successfully occur under specific conditions. Fusion happens when atomic nuclei, typically isotopes of hydrogen, collide with enough energy to overcome their natural repulsion and fuse together, releasing a large amount of energy. Achieving this requires extremely high temperatures and pressures, similar to the Sun’s core.
