Liholiho

Liholiho was the King of Hawaii from 1819 to 1824, also known as King Kamehameha II. He was part of the Hawaiian monarchy during a pivotal period of cultural change, including the abolition of traditional Hawaiian religious practices under Western influence. His reign marked a transition from old customs to new ideas brought by Western contact, such as Christianity and Western education. Liholiho played a key role in shaping modern Hawaii’s history, balancing traditional Hawaiian values with the transformative influences of foreign visitors and missionaries.
