Lighter-than-air craft

Lighter-than-air craft are vehicles that float in the air because they are filled with a gas that is less dense than the surrounding air, such as helium or hot air. These gases decrease the overall weight of the craft, allowing it to rise and stay aloft. Examples include hot air balloons, blimps, and airships. They rely on buoyancy principles similar to a boat floating on water, but in the air. Their ability to carry passengers or cargo depends on the volume of the gas and the craft's size and design.
