Image for Light Field Sensors

Light Field Sensors

Light field sensors capture not only the intensity and color of light at each point but also the direction from which the light rays arrive. This allows them to record a detailed "light field," providing rich information about depth, perspective, and focus. Essentially, they enable images to be refocused after capture, create 3D models, and improve depth perception in various applications like photography, imaging, and robotics. Unlike standard cameras, light field sensors gather multi-dimensional data simultaneously, offering a more comprehensive view of a scene in a single shot.
