Light emission

Light emission occurs when atoms or particles release energy in the form of photons, which are packets of light. This process happens when electrons within atoms move to higher energy levels and then fall back down, releasing energy as light. Light can also be produced by chemical reactions, electrical currents, or nuclear processes. For example, a neon sign emits light as the electric current excites neon atoms, causing them to emit visible light.
