Life Quality Adjusted

Quality-Adjusted Life Year (QALY) is a measure used to evaluate the value of healthcare treatments by combining both the quantity and quality of life they provide. It assigns a numerical value to different health states, where 1 represents perfect health and 0 indicates death. For example, a treatment that extends life by one year in good health equals 1 QALY, while one that extends life by a year but with some health limitations might equal 0.5 QALYs. This helps compare the effectiveness and cost-efficiency of different medical interventions, guiding healthcare decisions.
