Lice
Lice are tiny, wingless insects that live on the scalp or body, feeding on blood. They are highly contagious and spread through close contact or sharing personal items like hats or brushes. Symptoms include itching and a sensation of movement on the scalp. Lice do not carry disease but can cause discomfort and secondary infections from scratching. They reproduce quickly, with female lice laying eggs called nits that attach firmly to hair strands. Treating lice usually involves special shampoos, combing out nits, and thorough cleaning of clothing and bedding to prevent reinfestation.
