Liberalism and Nationalism

Liberalism is a political philosophy that emphasizes individual rights, freedom, equality, and democracy. It advocates for limiting government power to protect personal liberties and promote social progress. Nationalism, on the other hand, prioritizes the interests, culture, and identity of a specific nation or group, often promoting self-governance and independence. While liberalism seeks universal rights and open systems, nationalism focuses on fostering a shared national identity, which can sometimes lead to prioritizing one nation’s interests over others. Both influence political movements and policies but differ in their core emphasis—individual freedom versus collective national identity.
