Liao Dynasty
The Liao Dynasty (907-1125) was a prominent ruling dynasty in Northeast Asia, founded by the Khitan people. It encompassed parts of modern-day China, Mongolia, and Russia. The Liao established a multi-ethnic empire, blending Khitan, Chinese, and other cultures. They are known for their strong military, advanced administrative system, and dedication to trade, especially along the Silk Road. The dynasty promoted Buddhism and Daoism, contributing to cultural exchanges. The Liao fell to the Jurchen tribes, who established the Jin Dynasty, but their influence on subsequent Chinese history and governance remained significant.
