LHC Run 1
LHC Run 1 was the initial operational phase of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, beginning in 2009 and ending in 2013. During this period, scientists studied high-energy proton-proton collisions to explore fundamental particles and forces. This run led to the discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012, confirming a central part of the Standard Model of physics. Operating at unprecedented energies, Run 1 provided valuable insights into particle behavior at extremely small scales, helping scientists better understand the universe's fundamental constituents.
