LHC

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is the world's largest and most powerful particle accelerator, located underground near Geneva, Switzerland. It accelerates protons or lead ions to extremely high speeds—close to the speed of light—and collides them to recreate conditions similar to those just after the Big Bang. These collisions allow scientists to study fundamental particles and forces that make up our universe, helping to answer questions about the universe's origin, the nature of mass, and the existence of new particles like the Higgs boson. The LHC is a key tool in advancing modern physics.
