Ley Juárez
Ley Juárez was a legal reform enacted in Mexico in 1855, named after Benito Juárez, a prominent reformist leader. It aimed to reduce the power of the military and wealthy landowners by eliminating special privileges and exemptions they enjoyed under the law. The law promoted equality before the law and sought to establish a more fair and democratic society by making government and legal systems more accountable and less influenced by powerful elites. This reform was a key step toward modernizing Mexico’s legal and political framework, fostering greater justice and reducing corruption.
