Ley de Libertad de Vientres

The Ley de Libertad de Vientres, enacted in Mexico in 1829, declared that children born to enslaved women would no longer be enslaved at birth. Instead, these children would be free individuals, although they might still face legal and social restrictions. This law was a significant step toward abolishing slavery, reflecting growing recognition of fundamental human rights. It did not automatically free all enslaved people immediately but paved the way for the complete abolition of slavery in Mexico.
