Ley de Justicia y Paz

The Ley de Justicia y Paz (Law of Justice and Peace) was a Colombian law enacted in 2005 to encourage armed groups, especially paramilitaries, to disarm and peacefully reintegrate into society. It offers legal benefits in exchange for truthful confessions, commitments to justice, reparations for victims, and re-integration efforts.
