Lexiscan

Lexiscan (regadenoson) is a medication used during heart stress tests to evaluate blood flow in the heart. It temporarily widens the coronary arteries, mimicking the effects of exercise, which allows doctors to identify areas with reduced blood supply. This helps in diagnosing conditions like coronary artery disease. Typically administered through an injection, Lexiscan’s effects last for a few minutes, and it’s generally well-tolerated, though some patients may experience side effects like dizziness or shortness of breath. It is an important tool for non-invasively assessing heart health when exercise isn’t possible.
