Lexington class
The Lexington class was a group of six battleships built by the U.S. Navy in the early 20th century, around World War I. Designed for navy strength and deterrence, they featured large guns and heavy armor to fight other battleships. Although they were advanced for their time, they never saw combat and were surpassed by newer warship designs. Some of these ships were later converted into aircraft carriers, playing a significant role in the evolution of naval warfare. Overall, the Lexington class reflects a period of transition in naval technology and strategy from traditional battleship combat to air power dominance.
