Lewis structure

A Lewis structure is a visual way to show how atoms in a molecule connect and share electrons. It uses symbols for atoms and dots to represent valence electrons—the electrons available for bond formation. Shared pairs of dots, called bonding pairs, show atoms linked together, while lone pairs are electrons not involved in bonds. This diagram helps understand the molecule’s shape, stability, and reactivity by illustrating how electrons are arranged and shared among different atoms.
