Lewis' Counterfactuals

Lewis' counterfactuals are questions about what would happen if things had been different, like "If I had left earlier, would I have caught the train?" They help us understand cause-and-effect by considering alternative scenarios. Lewis developed a method called "possible worlds" to analyze these questions, imagining various "worlds" where different choices or events occur. This approach allows us to evaluate how changing one detail might lead to different outcomes, clarifying the connection between causes and effects in complex situations.
