Levine scale

The Levine scale is a grading system used in cardiology to assess the severity of mitral regurgitation, a condition where the mitral valve in the heart leaks blood backward. It classifies regurgitation from Grade I (mild) to Grade IV (severe), based on how much blood leaks and how clearly the leak can be seen using ultrasound imaging (echocardiography). This helps doctors determine how serious the condition is and guides treatment decisions. Essentially, it provides a standardized way to rate the severity of the valve leak to ensure consistent evaluation and management.
