Level 3 PSA
Level 3 Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) evaluates the potential social and environmental impacts of a nuclear accident, focusing on the consequences for the public and the environment. It estimates the health risks, such as radiation exposure and resulting effects, and assesses potential protective actions like evacuation and sheltering. Unlike Levels 1 and 2, which analyze the likelihood of an accident and reactor core damage, Level 3 examines what could happen if an accident occurs, helping authorities plan effective response strategies to minimize harm and manage long-term consequences.
