Level 2 PSA

Level 2 Probabilistic Safety Assessment (PSA) evaluates how likely a nuclear plant is to safely shut down and cool off after an accident, like a fire or leak. It focuses on the plant’s safety systems working during and after the initial event, ensuring it doesn’t lead to dangerous releases of radiation. Essentially, it’s a detailed analysis that estimates the chances and possible outcomes of containment failure and radioactive release, helping engineers understand and improve the plant’s safety measures to protect people and the environment.
