Leukine

Leukine is a medication containing a form of a protein called granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF), which helps stimulate the production of white blood cells in the bone marrow. It is often used to prevent or treat neutropenia—a condition where a person has a low number of neutrophils, a type of infection-fighting white blood cell—especially after chemotherapy or bone marrow transplants. By promoting white blood cell growth, Leukine can reduce the risk of infections and support recovery of the immune system during treatments that suppress blood cell production.
