Leukaemia
Leukaemia is a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow, where blood cells are produced. In leukaemia, abnormal white blood cells grow and multiply uncontrollably, which can crowd out healthy cells. This can lead to symptoms like fatigue, easy bleeding or bruising, infections, and anemia. There are different types of leukaemia, classified based on how quickly they progress and which white blood cells are affected. Treatment options include chemotherapy, radiation, targeted therapy, and sometimes stem cell transplants, aiming to eradicate abnormal cells and restore healthy blood cell production.
