Lesser flying fox

The Lesser Flying Fox is a large fruit-eating bat native to parts of Southeast Asia and Australia. It has a wingspan of up to 1.3 meters (about 4 feet) and can weigh around 1 to 1.5 kilograms (2.2 to 3.3 pounds). Recognizable by its dark brown to black fur and large eyes, it primarily feeds on figs and other tree fruits. These bats play a vital role in ecosystems by pollinating plants and dispersing seeds, helping maintain healthy forests. Despite their size, they are generally gentle and crucial for agricultural and natural environments.
