Les Surréalistes

Les Surréalistes, or Surrealists, are a group of artists and writers active mainly in the early 20th century who aimed to unlock the unconscious mind's creative potential. They sought to express dreams, fantasies, and the irrational, challenging conventional ideas of reality. Surrealism combines unexpected images and ideas, often resulting in bizarre, dream-like works that provoke thought and emotion. Influenced by psychoanalysis, they valued spontaneity and free association, pushing artistic boundaries to explore deeper truths beneath everyday appearances. Notable figures include Salvador Dalí, André Breton, and René Magritte.
