Les Binet
Les Binet was a French psychologist best known for developing the first practical intelligence test in the early 20th century. Working with his colleague Théodore Simon, he created the Binet-Simon scale to identify students needing special educational support. This test measured various cognitive skills, such as reasoning and problem-solving, laying the groundwork for modern IQ testing. Binet believed intelligence was not fixed and could be nurtured through education, challenging earlier views on intellectual capacity. His work significantly influenced psychology, education, and our understanding of human intelligence.
