Leopold's Maneuvers

Leopold's Maneuvers are a series of four palpation techniques used by healthcare providers to assess the position and presentation of a pregnant woman's fetus. By feeling the abdomen in specific areas, the clinician determines the baby's lie (horizontal or vertical), presentation (head or buttocks first), position (which way the baby's back is oriented), and engagement (whether the baby’s presenting part has entered the pelvis). These maneuvers help in planning delivery, ensuring fetal well-being, and identifying potential complications. They are a valuable, non-invasive tool performed during routine prenatal exams to monitor fetal health and positioning.
