Leopold II (Holy Roman Emperor)

Leopold II was Holy Roman Emperor from 1790 to 1792 and also ruler of Austria. Known for his diplomatic skills, he aimed to stabilize Europe during turbulent times and sought to expand Austria’s influence. His reign was relatively brief, but he was involved in efforts to counter revolutionary France and strengthen the empire’s internal cohesion. Leopold was also known for his patronage of arts and sciences. His rule came after his brother Joseph II, and his leadership helped shape Austria's position in late 18th-century European politics.
